Dismal Jimmy is feeding his old Hamlet (or Dark Secret, as he was renamed later by kids who found him).
Hamlet is a pretty smart horse, he's trained to do many things. He's a natural born actor, just like his master. Hamlet can perform a role of a scary and mysterious mount of a sinister unknown guy named Dismal Jimmy. Actually Dismal Jimmy is a simple barber and has nothing with all those creepy things.

===============Short info about Dismal Jimmy=============
He's a twenty years old barber, living in a small town in 1871 filled with 
cowboys, farmers and outlaws (well those are rather fooling around 
outside town). His real name is Horatio Antony Rash and he's quite
unremarkable in the place. But he's a true romantic, has read a lot of books
and loves epic stories about knights and awful ghosts. So he feels in himself
a sinister figure, and he creates a character Dismal Jimmy. Then he takes a 
coffin and an old ragged duster and goes to the local outlaw band to make 
his dreams true.
