Podbipienta

I've almost never drawn my favourite characters from the books I read. What the hell huh??

So I tried kinda sketch portrait of pan Longinus Podbipięta!
It's heroic Lithuanian knight from the book Ogniem i mieczem (With Fire And Sword) by Henryk Sienkiewicz.
Despite pan Longinus' huge height and strenght and severe look he's so shy and the nicest guy!

But whoever should be alarmed at the sword would be reassured in a moment by
a glance at the face of its owner. The face, lean like the whole person, was adorned
with hanging brows and a pair of drooping, hemp-colored mustaches, but was as
honest and sincere as the face of a child. The hanging mustaches and brows gave
him an expression at once anxious, thoughtful, and ridiculous.

Но испугайся кто меча, тот бы сразу успокоился, взглянув на лицо его владельца.
Оно, будучи, как и весь облик этого человека, тощим, украшалось двумя обвисшими
бровями и парою таково же обвислых льняного цвета усищ; однако при этом было
столь открыто, столь искренно, словно лицо ребенка. Помянутая обвислость усов и
бровей сообщала литвину вид одновременно озабоченный, печальный и потешный.
